Why volunteer?
The 10 Citizens Advice Hertfordshire services would not be able to function without its volunteers and we are extremely grateful to everyone who gives up their time to work with us. We know this is a two way process and our volunteers also gain a lot from their work with us. We offer an opportunity to ‘give something back’ and provide help to people in your local community. You will meet new people and work as part of a friendly and supportive team. You will learn new skills, developing your experience, and have access to quality training. Our volunteers have different reasons for coming to us, but all find it a fulfilling, enjoyable and stimulating experience.
What roles are available?
Roles available vary hugely – it’s not just about giving advice. We also need receptionists, telephone advisors, assessors, administrators, researchers, campaigners, fundraisers, IT support, trustees and people who can help us maintain our premises.
If you have a skill it is likely we can use it!
What kind of a time commitment do you ask for?
This depends on the role and the amount of training that is needed. For example, we usually ask for two half day sessions a week if you are in an advice-giving role, but the time commitment may be different for other roles.
